With the departure of 12 beloved seniors and faculty advisors Mrs. and Mr. Donnell, the new Editorial Board has big shoes to fill—fortunately, they are ready for the challenge.
Let’s meet the new Editors in Chief for the 2026-2027 school year!
Lorelei took Journalism during the fall semester of her freshman year and then joined Mainsheet in the spring to continue her love of writing. At the beginning of this year, she became the Section Editor of the brand-new Community section. Over the past three years, Lorelei has absolutely loved being able to explore her passions and be part of such an incredible community, and she’s very excited to continue supporting a program she loves by serving as Editor-in-Chief. Next year, Lorelei hopes to bring the Mainsheet community even closer together, encourage more students to join the program, and continue worshipping accuracy!
Wenai joined Mainsheet in her freshman year as a staff writer, assisted as Bulletin Editor in her sophomore year, and is honored to serve as Editor-in-Chief as a rising junior. She loves all the time she spent with The Mainsheet’s incredible community, and is grateful for all the experiences that taught her to be a better writer, interviewer, planner, editor, graphic designer, communicator, and artist. As Volume 77 begins, she is determined to continue writing trustworthy articles, creating engaging Centerfolds and Backpages, exploring different perspectives, and building the connections that inspired her to be a part of Mainsheet in the first place.
Kelly took Journalism classes during the fall semester of freshman year when she wanted to continue exploring her varied interests. She later joined the Mainsheet to continue her toxic love-hate relationship with English. Kelly became the website manager in her junior year and is beyond excited to serve as the Managing Editor and continue being the Website manager. Kelly envisions punchy titles and giggle-inducing articles. She hopes to keep the Chadwick audience engaged and informed on Chadwick and outside news.
Gianna joined The Mainsheet in her sophomore year as a staff writer, took on the role of Satire section editor her junior year, and is incredibly excited to serve as Editor-in-Chief for the program this upcoming school year! In addition to being EIC, she will also take on the role of News section editor. Although she is passing her beloved Satire section to the new members of the editorial board, she is excited to see how the section continues to grow. This year, Gianna is especially looking forward to giving the Mainsheet Instagram a complete glow-up, writing controversial opinion pieces, and encouraging new members to join the publication.
Because of our smaller staff, we’ve shifted to a slightly shorter paper with 12 pages instead of 16 to ensure that you can receive the high-quality reporting that you deserve. After its success in Volume 76, our Satire section, The Misprint, will continue to run in every issue. The Community section will be eliminated. All the other sections will continue to inform, delight, and provoke thought!
Being the best (and only) newspaper on campus is something we take seriously. Our unofficial slogan—“worship accuracy”—means providing quality articles and up-to-date information, but it also means always seeking out diverse viewpoints, practicing empathy with everyone we cross paths with, and actively reflecting on ways to improve. We strive to uphold journalistic integrity while honoring the Core Values throughout everything we do, from interviewing to writing to designing to editing.
So here we are. We are thrilled to serve as this year’s Editors-in-Chief and are beyond grateful for all of the mentors who inspired us in our Mainsheet journey.
Have a restful summer, and we’ll see you next year!
Lots of love,
Lorelei, Wenai, Gianna, and Kelly
