Baseball
With their first appearance in CIF playoffs since 2016, Chadwick’s baseball is the perfect example of how hard work pays off. The team began their CIF Division 8 playoffs on May 14 and won against Vasquez High School. After winning their 3+ hour game against Thurgood Marshall High School on May 19, the boys continued their streak at quarterfinals on May 22, but barely fell short by two points against Rancho Alamitos.
With the seniors being a particularly key part of the team, captain Ian Malishka ’26 led and cultivated a strong team bond. Player Parker Leshney ’27 says, “Everyone on the team got along really well, and the team chemistry is key to our success.”
Softball
Softball made it to the CIF Division 7 playoffs after powering through a difficult and rewarding season. Chadwick won 6-1 against Desert Christian Academy on May 15 for their first game, but lost to Cathedral City on May 16.
Even though ten seniors will be leaving the team, softball is in a great position with their tight-knit community and immense improvement. Pitcher Audrey Sakamoto ‘29 notes that “our seniors were a big part of our success this year. Their past experiences and unique personalities made the team fun, and I am proud to be a part of such a team.”
Boys Golf
Chadwick Boys Golf was able to clinch the Prep League Champions title for two consecutive years and played in the CIF Division 5 Team Qualifier on May 18. The players secured the CIF Southern Section Champions title for the first time in school history after winning an intense playoff.
Although Lucas Ro ’26 will be departing from the team after four years of astonishing work, it is safe to say that the team is in good hands. Some players are already chasing after Ro’s legacy, with Kevin Yang ’27 proudly representing Chadwick each year at CIF Individuals.
Boys Volleyball
The Boys Volleyball season has truly been eventful. The team spent hours practicing their bumps, serves, and receives, with setter Grayson Gervais ’27 saying, “We are always trying to become one of the hardest-working teams. We make sure that we give our all on every play because we cannot control what the other teams do, but we can control how hard we play.”
Although Connor Jordan ’25 left big shoes to fill for Grant Lang ’26, Gervais notes, “Grant was a great mentor and an incredible teammate. He always gave 100% and was never afraid to get the ball.”
Boys Tennis
From lasting memories to big wins, the 2025-26 boys tennis season was unforgettable. Coach Regina described the season as “full of ups and downs.”
Although the team had a rough start, they ultimately came out on top. Working with players of all levels, from beginners to top-level players like Zach Chen ’26, Coach Regina saw how the nitty-gritty generates successful results.
Round 2 of CIF Division 6 was a turbulent match, with the games being on the same day as the seniors’ grad night. Many seniors gave up a few hours of hanging out with their classmates to compete, showing how tenacious and close the team is.
Track and Field
The track and field team’s accomplishments are a force to be reckoned with. Throughout the season, athletes have continuously pushed themselves to beat personal records. Runner Sophie Boval ’28 says, “Thanks to my teammates, I hit my goal time and qualified for finals. I’m extremely grateful for their support this season.”
Although the team faced setbacks, such as a quick start to the season with no preparation, Coach Sacco said that they were able to overcome the hurdle by “treating the beginning of the season more as an opportunity to improve and not worry about results,” embodying the growth mindset that led to the team’s success.
Swimming
With every dive off the block, the swim team gave it their all. Through teamwork, dedication, and discipline, this season was one to remember. Whether competing individually or in a team relay, every swimmer continued to help one another.
Max Wang ’28 and Sam Wang ’28 competed in CIF Division 3 Finals and placed in multiple events, with Max placing third in the 200-yard IM and Sam placing second in the 100-yard freestyle. The team’s dedication to improvement displayed how ambition and determination result in high scores.
